The creators of the statue are the Cumans, a nomadic people which in the 11th century travelled from the area of the upper Irtysh River to the steppe of the contemporary Ukraine and Russia.
The stone stele represents a standing woman of natural size, but of disproportionate physique. She is dressed in a caftan reaching down to her knees and a tall hat, at the back of her head she has “horns” (ornaments made from felt rollers hemmed with a fabric), on her ears earrings, on her neck a necklace in the form of a decorative rod, a pouch at her waist, and in hands joined on her stomach she has a vessel. Her face details were removed for unknown reasons.
The statue from Stadnytsya is from c. the 12th/13th century.
