Between the columns, the figure of a falcon, an embodiment of the god Horus (god of heaven, one of the main Egyptian deities). The bird has marked wings, legs with claws; on its head, there is the double crown of Egypt. In front, below, there are two small air holes, at the back, an opening for a lamp. Lanterns in this shape are known mainly from cemeteries in Alexandria from the 4th century BC to the 2nd century AD.
