Amulet mould depicting a lotus flower, a symbol of rebirth due to its ability to bloom during the day and close at night. The lotus flower was associated with the cult of Osiris (as a symbol of rebirth), or the god Nefertum, shown with a crown in the form of a blooming lotus, or as a child walking on a lotus. The lotus motif can be found in many examples of Egyptian art, architecture and everyday objects. The flower was also used in cosmetics.
